Ales Vasicek (CZ) After film-oriented high school Ales has been working as an assistant of Japanese photographer Akira Sato (former president of Nikkor Club of Japan and member of photographic group VIVO). During almost three years long cooperation Ales acquired (next to his admiration of Japanese culture) a deeper knowledge of photography and decided to remain in this field. Later he has been working in TV News and in 2008 graduated in journalism at the Charles University of Prague. An important role in his photo-technical development played photographer Karel Benes, MQEP, who introduced him the world of large format camera and precise studio-lighting techniques. Since 2003 Ales has joined a group of travellers on their annual expedition to Africa and Middle East. At the moment Ales lives in the Netherlands undertaking academic years of Master Photographic studies. During his stay in The Hague, he has been cooperating with an important Dutch/Moravian photographer and filmmaker Vojta Dukat. This cooperation became a crucial stage of his further photographic development. |
